PRESS RELEASE | June 15, 2023

GREENMAP is now RELP

Brussels, June 15th - Today we officially launched our new brand: GREENMAP is now RELP.

Our organisation has undergone a rebranding process. This new brand perfectly captures our mission: to accelerate the transition to clean energy in developing countries by unlocking RE markets to scalable private investments at low prices, promoting sustainable economic development for the people.

Greenmap is now RELP

The name RELP blends our focus on RENEWABLES with our passion to make them REAL & POSSIBLE in the developing world. We firmly believe in turning possibilities into reality. Our core mission is to empower developing nations in their pursuit of clean energy. We firmly believe in the possibility of an energy transition and are dedicated to ensuring that it is both attainable and equitable.

“This rebranding represents a significant milestone for our organisation. It's been an incredible endeavour, one that required immense dedication from our team and external collaborators, said Sebastian Kind, RELP’s Chairman & CEO. Changing our name wasn't an easy decision, as it held so much history and meaning. However, we realised that growth sometimes demands embracing transformation. We can't wait to embark on this chapter with all of you. Thank you for your support throughout this rebranding journey! he added.”

With the transition to RELP, the brand has also unveiled a new logo and visual identity that embodies its commitment to renewables, featuring clean lines, bold letters, vibrant green hues merging with greys, and a modern aesthetic. The new logo serves as a visual representation of RELP's mission to create a balance between sustainability, innovation and disruption.

"Our rebranding from GREENMAP to RELP represents our commitment to evolve, adapt, and lead in an ever-changing world. This change symbolises our determination to create a lasting impact, inspire positive change, and redefine what is possible. Together, as RELP, we will continue to chart a path towards renewable energy for all,” said Mauro Soares, RELP’s Vice-Chairman & COO.

By embracing this new name and identity, RELP aims to position itself as the standard for renewable energy auction design and implementation.

This renaming does not affect the legal name of our organisation which remains Global Renewable Energy Mass Adoption Program ASBL, duly registered in Brussels, Belgium. RELP is now our new brand and commercial name.

About RELP (formerly GREENMAP)

We are an impact-driven and independent non-profit organisation. RELP focuses on accelerating the deployment of renewable generation in developing economies by directly supporting governments in the design and implementation of stable regulatory frameworks, competitive procurement processes, and new financial and credit enhancement tools, including program-based guarantees.

We focus on implementation to facilitate bankability, foster competition, and boost the local and foreign investments needed to materialise project installations, local economic and social development, and the reduction of GHG emissions.
